Rear door stuck locked.

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Rear passenger side door is stuck locked on my mk1 fabia vrs. It won't unlock on central locking or by pulling the handle inside.

I did notice it had made a bit of a noise when locking/unlocking recently. In hind sight I probably should have looked into it before. Now there's no noise of it trying to unlock at all.

I've had a search but I can't seem to find a definative answer on the forum. I assume I'm going to need to get the door card off somehow. Is this even possible with the door locked?

Any advice or suggestions very welcome.

Thank you.

Sounds like it's deadlocked due to faulty lock motor. If that's the case, then you'll need to replace the lock motor. Fair few threads on here about it. I think you'll have to destroy the door card though in order to remove the ancillaries carrier, then you may need some careful bodgery on the motor itself in order to unlock the door.

think you only have to destroy the door card on the front, I thought the rear was removable in situ, well I hope it is as I have the exact same problem. id def say the lock mechanism was at fault. many topics about this though, sometimes easier to use google to search the site than the search function within the site though.

They're both removable in situ if you're careful enough, I've done front and rear before

As the front have screws in the bottom I figured you couldn't get that one off without breaking something.

Search my posts pretty sure I've posted it before. Which side is it? mine should be in the house so can take a pic for you if it is.

There was a post yesterday about someone front being knackered two guides were posted on there too

Just seen its passenger, if it's in the house I'll take a pic for you if not I'll look on my eBay purchases as I rang dealer to get the part no. And used to find the part.

Put this item number in ebay 171395643840 that's the one I got. Message the seller with your reg etc and they'll sort you one out.
