Ease of fitting mud flaps

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm just about to place an order for a new Fabia Hatchback 1.2 TSI 90 SE-L after being very impressed test driving one yesterday.

I'll want it to have mud flaps front and rear, given the muddy lanes around Dorset, and am happy to fit them myself provided it's a simple job. Has anyone had any problems fitting them? Am I better off paying twice the price to have the dealer supply & fit them before handover?

I'm making sure it will be built after week 22 so that it comes with Apple CarPlay installed. Anything else that anyone would advise me to consider / be aware of before I sign on the dotted line?

Many thanks!

It is piece of cake, you can easily do it by yourself.

Have you fittet yourself.

I too ordered the mud flap set separately for the front and rear.

The front mounting was a 10 minute job. Just turned the wheels to gain access to the 3 screws and done.

The rear on the other hand is as of now still in its bag because I cannot for the life of me get how this will fit. The shape on the bottom part with e small locking mechanism does not seem to allign.

First I thought I got the wrong part and that tere was a difference between the hatchback and combi version. part numbers is the same though (6V6075101)

I know I am somewhat mechanically declined, but then again. :-)

There is a difference in rear mud flaps between hatch and wagon. Originally they sold me wagon ones and then had to exchange to hatch version.

Aah I see. In Denmark it is the same part number. So I guess I have the wagon version then.

Thank you for the reply.

Got mine from SuperSkoda. Front easy, back worried about plastic screws but all went well. Took @ 1/2 hour. (Bit old, have to kneel down then turn, sit.)

Noticed that rear windscreen now free of dust, always keeps clean compared to no rear flaps.

Another interesting observation is that the bonnet seems to funnel air such that I get condensation in 2 distinct condensation adjacent patches low on the windscreen that slowly diminish as air temperature increases.

In microburst rain the wipers aren't needed as the rain globules and runs-up windscreen, never seen this before?

There is a 'funny' noise when initially sitting in the Fabia, like rusty-things-graunching? Dunno, yet.

Just hit 2500km and have learned new way of driving, unlike Jazz, rpm is low and torque happens when needed.

All-in-all it's really majick! (Drool-- wifey complains she wants a go! Nah!)

About to fit a Street Guardian SG9665GC dash cam, it's got no LiPo battery, a cap, so in Oz temps should not catch-fire.
