So how good have Fabia MK3 sales been in 1st two months post launch?

Featured Replies

I have only seen 1 in Macclesfield a blue estate which looked very nice but when you look at the prices for what you get they seem soooo expensive .I too have had letters and calls from local dealers offering great trade in prices against our new models . So that is average book price against over-inflated recommended retail price NO THANKS.

Mrs Goldfinger picks her's up next Monday   Fabia MKIII 1.2  SE-L 110PS  , Petrol with a manual gearbox in white.

My car (which albeit 2/3 options) is the most expensive. £21000!

I recently had to change my Roomster manual for a car with DSG.

I considered the Fab III Estate but by the time I had factored in DSG, sunroof and a few creature comforts, I found it was going to cost the best part of £20,000.  Sorry, no thanks.  Instead, I bought a near-new Roomster with DSG, sunroof and creature comforts for half the price.

IMHO, Skoda has overpriced the Fabia in the UK and (as with the Rapid) will need to discount prices in order to generate sales.

Had two test drives in the Fabia III so far but I cannot get excited about it. Admittedly it's nicer to drive than the Fabia II mainly due to improved steering but it feels small inside and the dash layout is not to my taste.

Feeling more and more a non Skoda replacement will be on the cards when we get round to changing the Monte, unless Skoda gives us a small 4x4 but I cannot see that happening; seem happy to leave Fiat to have a monopoly on that one.

Skoda already offer a small 4x4, it's called a Yeti with more on the way by 2017 ;)

The Fiat 500X is a nice car but like the Fabia III, overpriced, even the Fiat salesman admitted that when my wife picked up her new Fiat 500S a few weeks ago.

Had two Yeti's already but they are on a modified Golf V platform; would like myself to see a smaller 4x4 like a Fabia estate, as it would be ideal for the narrows single track roads round here.

....or the Fiat Panda 4x4 for that matter, however, if you look at the pricing for the Panda Cross with the fancy skid plates and things over and above a standard Panda 4x4 then you wonder if Skoda and Fiat have the same bean counters as marketing executives.

Auto Express ran an article a couple of weeks ago about Skoda and Seat's plans to launch a new range of 4x4 SUVs, there's to be a sub Yeti SUV based on the Fabia but it's at least a couple of years away.

Understand though they will only be 2wd

Possibly, especially the Fabia based one I suppose.

What!!!! Please don't tell me you paid that much for it?

same thoughts as me about the fabia, I did not get to test drive though

to me when I sat in one I felt closer to the screen and less knee room, not the usual light and airy interior I am used to

and when saw the Hyundai's, price and spec it made up my mind, but the only reason I actually went and looked was the fact I was ignored by the sales staff at my skoda dealer

but It has taught me not automatically be brand loyal in the future, I will make a short list again and actively look at all of them before making a decision

As much as I would like to buy a Fabia III estate and if the deal is right I probably will, I've been drawing up contingency plans by looking at other small estate/crossovers with roof rails and a bigger boot as main requirements.

So far, I'm considering the facelifted Ibiza ST with the new 1.0 TSI engine and infotainment system, Vauxhall Mokka CDTI, Suzuki Vitara or the S Cross and as a left field option, the new Ssanyong Tivoli diesel. The Ssanyong is £15600 for the mid spec EX with all the kit of the Fabia SE L plus more, 18" alloys, full two tone leather interior, heated seats etc. It launches next month so will have a look to see what the launch offers are like, the reviews so far have been very positive and Road Tax is £30 too. Ssangyong is an unknown quantity to me but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

I'm impressed with the new Fabia and would prefer to get one next but I'll just have see what deals are on come the time, it's getting it's next free service in a couple of weeks time so I'll have another look round them then and see what the craic is.

problem is if skoda up there game and improve the std equipment without pushing the price up to much they will take sales away from the polo, which as I have said before the only real difference between they triplets (fabia III, new polo, new A1) is the std equipment,

and if they up the spec I can't see the bosses at VAG being happy with skoda taking sales from VW

They are just too expensive!! No longer a no brainer, even Polos can undercut. For a couple of grand more you can get an Octavia and thats another one thats not that cheap.

Skoda have lost the plot or VW are keen to neuter Skoda, I dont know which.

Have to laugh at the the "german marque palace showroom" makeover Skoda forced on our dealers. White floor tiles? (c/w frustrated woman with mop following every customer)

Pound has strengthened a lot against the euro, so how about it skoda? Vat free - at the very least? Before those new customers taken in by the JD surveys and other publicity ploys realise that they've bought an average car with increasingly expensive servicing.

just looking at the latest offer for the fabia III

"Available with a £1,000 deposit contribution on stock vehicles"

seems to me skoda UK have a lot of unsold stock in the supply chain and don't want many additional factory orders

so question is are they all S level trim or have they seriously over estimated demand

Simpsons Skoda were doing the Fabia SE L 90 TSI for £199 dep and £199 a month with 3 years servicing for £99 last week, that was on stock vehicles.

The First Registered Skoda Dealership Demonstrators are already advertised for sale,

and all the UK's Demonstrators will be in the Used Car Trade on the UK after 3 months unless bought already.

So we will see what the Asking Prices are, then what they drop to if they are not selling.

When 'What Car' made the All New 3rd Generation Fabia 'What Car Car of the Year' They said they would have good residuals.

So we will see just how much you can really buy Used 2015 Fabias for just shortly.

It might come to be the usual Skoda way of you might as well buy new, because that is just the same price as Skoda Dealers

want for Used ones.

'Simply Clever'.

currently 15 reg fabia III's at between £500 to £1000 off depending on mileage

depends how you haggle as to if they are good value, and you don't know how they have been driven on demo's or by the staff who have used them as a company car

In a town with a Skoda dealership 2 miles away and loads of Mk2 Fabias, Citigos and Octavias on the roads I have seen one Mk3 Fabia driving around.

That's not a great deal. I bought my car brand new with 7 miles on the clock at £2000 below list price through Carfile.

I've seen quite a few, though my commute does take me very close to a nearby Skoda garage - albeit one which does servicing and used cars only - so I'm never sure if they are demos driven by the folks who work there, or courtesy cars for people getting a service

that said, there is someone living round the corner from me who has a 64 plate Fabia III - it doesn't look like a personal plate so maybe it was one of the first ones sold

WoW saw my 2nd Mk3 this morning, coming out of the Sainsbury's Petrol station in Chippenham. Dark Blue Estate!!

Looked very smart, not sure what spec though.

Saw my 3rd Mk3 today - this morning going through Calne, Wilts. An Estate in Dark Met Grey, looked very smart, again unable to discern the actual spec.

Went for a test drive in the MkIII today. Really impressed, drove a 110ps DSG hatch (I'd want the estate though). Based on the drive went in for a "chat" decided on the spec I'd be looking for. Once it was totalled up it was north of £18,000.00! WTF!!!

My current Rapid, which was top of the range with almost all the options ticked, was £2,000.00 less and my Mk1 top of the range VRS was £5,500.00 less. What are Skoda thinking of? I'd really like one as it really was good to drive but at those prices, I just simply cannot justify it.

The price was made worse by the fact that my car is still in negative equity! How is that possible with the size of deposit I put down & the value of my previous trade in it took nearly £5,000.00 off the price. How can it be worth less that I owe on a 0% pcp deal? The DP did step in and say that they'd cover the shortfall but even still. Those prices are ludicrously high. So I'm currently stuck in my current car which is not all that bad as it is still a really nice car, it's just not as nice as the MkIII Fabia would have been.

I looked at a Rapid Spaceback Sport a few months ago as the deal was great but was warned against it due to steep depreciation.
