So how good have Fabia MK3 sales been in 1st two months post launch?

Featured Replies

Visually, driving around in an area notorious for good Skoda sales, I still don't see many on the road around me yet.

So how good has been the take up and what sales lead time stacking up.

If sales are slow,(?) have dealers been going out of their way to make deals more attractive and is this supported by the UK HQ?

What is your experience to date?

Is it to expensive generally speaking?

I've only seen 1 on my travels around Stockport/Manchester....

I've had 3 phone calls from Skoda dealers that I've used in the past wanting to talk to me about 'exciting deals' on the new Fabia.

Not an answer to your question,

but as SEAT announce the Face Lifted Ibiza for later this year including with the 1.4 TSI ACT 148ps engine,

i wonder how that might effect sales of the All New Fabia in hatch form even more, given that you only get offered a petrol 1.2 TSI with the 90 or 110ps engine.

A 1.4 TSI ACT Fabia Hatch & Estate is surely going to have to be offered at some point from Skoda.

Bloody good point George!

Still only one, parked in a drive way near my missus's house. This area ,as mentioned previously, notorious for good Skoda sales, especially amongst the Silver Suffers spending their good and protected pensions. (Sorry about being slightly political today)

Also on a day when great new car sales figures have been posted!!??

It was pointed out in another Briskoda thread that there were a lot of New Fabia sitting in a Hire Car Compound.

I have seen them come up when looking to Hire Cars.

But then Alasdair Stewart's Team will have been full out getting Fleet & Corporate Lease cars out and about,

and doing the usual Very Good Deal to get cars First Registered and have the 2nd Quarter looking like UK First Registrations

were a success story.

We will see the Truth in a Quarter or 3,  Demonstrators, Skoda UK Owned Cars & Fleet, compared to Private Buyers.

If Skoda got cars to Individuals then maybe they would be getting a big up.

18 Owners only up in the Register at the top of the page, but surely there are more Briskoda Members than that

with their new cars delivered, just shy still. !!

I have only seen two other Mk3s in Ayrshire, one an Estate and the other the Hatchback. Whether sales pick up or not doesn't particularily concern me as I like the car anyway.

In Estonia i see them daily, today only ive seen like 5+ both hatch and estate.

We are looking to replace my wifes 58 plate Fabia which, when we bought it new, was under £9k and available with 0% finance. It meant that after a trade in of £3k, payments were approximately £160 and we owned the car after 3 years.

The equivalent new model is now over £12k, plus Skoda only promote lease purchase finance agreements as an incentive for low monthly payments, but there is a large balloon payment at the end of the term.

Skoda dealers (if you're listening), get realistic with the pricing and deals on the Fabia or I for one will be going elsewhere for a new car!

Are they much cheaper there!!??

As Skoda find UK a cash pit for profits.

I have seen just a single grey estate on the road since launch, in an area well covered by Skoda dealers.

For 1.2 81kw DSG estate SE L, its 16,200 Euros, Basic Estate begins from 11,150 Euros

Definetely they are much cheaper here, blame your taxation system - or -priorities, not Skoda ;)

I see a LOT of mk2s every day. Considering the introduction was in January, the quite long building- and delivery times no wonder you wont spot many mk3.

Yet.

My car (which albeit 2/3 options) is the most expensive. £21000!

In the UK the Skoda Octavia is in the top 5 cars sales / First Registrations in Q1 2015.

in the recent past years the Fabia was their best UK seller.

Maybe next year it will be again.

All the Adverts they are running here, Car of the Year before anyone owned one,

and all the teasing to the launch and they must be fingers crossed they have not

released yet another sales flop like the Rapid / Rapid No Space in the back.

Still not seen a single one in the 6 weeks that I have had mine.

It's starting to feel quite exclusive!

I doubt the Fabia will ever trouble the top 10 new car sales figures, the Octavia is Skoda's top seller and that doesn't make it that often.

In 2013 Skoda UK First Registered 66,000 cars, and 32,000 were Fabia.

The year before was about the same, 8% less total.

Skoda can get sales in a First Quarter because they were not getting the cars to customers in the last 2 quarters of the previous year.

Delays in Building and Importing can mean that then when they arrive they are 'Sold/ Registered / Delivered'

or even just plenty are Registered as Demonstrators.

Skoda selling all it imports to the UK still did not make half as many as Ford sold / Registered in Fiestas.

problem is with the corporate front, it is difficult to tell a fabia from a rapid if you only see the front, it is only if you see the side or rear you can tell,

I see a lot on transporters so obviously they seem to be sold, but I don't seem to see as many as the outgoing model, but the numbers are increasing

on the few occasions recently I have visited my old dealer I do not see many on the forecourt or waiting hand over

I've seen two On The Road in Leicester since I ordered mine six weeks ago.

Seen 4 or 5 in the last couple of months, mainly hatches and one Race Blue estate. The last I seen was this morning, a white hatch with black roof and wheels on a 15 plate being driving by a member of the blue rinse brigade, the car did look good though.

Where I live isn't known for big Skoda ownership, I've seen a couple of monte's and a fair few standard spec. Where my girlfriend lives in South Wales, I have always noticed seeing a LOT of fabias around - especially Monte Carlo's and vRS's. Not seen so many Mk3s as of yet.

I browse the skoda used car locator every couple of days and even the demos are with high asking prices. My mother traded her vRS in for an SE at a price of 12,990 and that was a TDI DSG. Only seen about 5 so far, I did see a silver SE L with black colour combo the other day which was quite nice.

There'll be a new one on Cornish roads tomorrow... :sun:

In Finland, the new Fabia is almost in the top 30 most sold car models for the full first 4 months. This despite

- customer deliveries starting for real only in march

- the real volume model, the estate, was not even introduced until beginning of march

The top sellers currenlty are Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, NIssan Qashqai and Toyota Auris with Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda as the top 3 brands.

For 1.2 81kw DSG estate SE L, its 16,200 Euros, Basic Estate begins from 11,150 Euros

Damn. Look across the border to our pricelist:

http://web.skoda.fi/lataukset/fabia/fabia/skoda-fabia-hinnasto.pdf?time=1431061782

Basic Estate starting from 15 350 eur and the DSG 81kw 20 600 - 22 300 eur

a "bit" of difference, not like it's a surprise though, due to our taxes.

I have seen maybe 2 or 3 new fabias around. People here buy the Octavia. Like with VRS's, you never see a Fabia, but at least 5+ VRS octavias in a day. For smaller cars, I would say that the Yaris, is the most popular one.
