Scrap car removal (Minus wheels and suspension)

Featured Replies

So the Fabia is ready to go to car heaven. Problem is, getting it from my driveway, as it currently sits with no wheels or suspension. All the 'we scrap any car' type websites wont collect a car without these parts, I've emailed a few, they dont want to know. The sites are quoting a good £100 or so for a complete car so if I can find someone to take it they should make a few bob, it's accessible so shouldnt be too much work just someone with the right tools.

Anyone got any recommendations? I'm based in Buckinghamshire

Cheers!

Chap came to me with lorry and crane on back and hoiks up on a chain. :)

This^^ or if you're not interested in making a few quid, find some *ahem* 'Non-static caravan dwellers' who'll most likely take it off your hands ;)

Dragged on back of car transporter using winch and a couple of scaffold boards underneath the shell.

I dragged mine down drive by lowering it on two trolley things you are meant to use four under each wheel. Car was half original weight by then anyway...

My brother and I pushed that shell out on boards to the bottom of the drive abandoning the plan of dragging it with the car as it was so easy, the plan was then to drag it back up a bit using the Fabia (had to go all the way down to get the Fabia off the lawn) so the truck could get on, but it was then I discovered I didn't have a towing eye for the fabia. As the shell was so light we jacked the front up a bit to stop it digging in and pushed it back up the slope fairly easily. As long as its fairly stripped they are easier than you think to move :) No wheels was a bonus in this case... wheels and no brakes could have been problematic on a sloping drive :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm off next week, looks like I need to get asking round the scrap yards. I'm not fussed about getting any money for it, just need it scrapped.

Its still got the block in it, dash etc too so still pretty heavy.
