Hi , can anyone tell me what antifreeze / coolant to use in my 1.6 efi octavia. for normal running in the UK and what ratio to dilute.

G12 has been replaced with G13 a number of years ago.

I know but I wouldn't want to mix the two. He doesn't say if it's for top up or a full refill

G13 can be mixed fine with G12, but G12 hasn't been used for 15 years, so unless someone has filled it wrong it wont be red G12.

 

G12+ came in around 2000, which is purple.

I'd use 50/50, not so much for the anti-freeze characteristics (although I've driven at ~60mph in an air temperature of -20C) as for the anti-corrosion properties.
