Cannonball Start - When & Who?

Featured Replies

I've looked on the net and found where the cannonball is starting from, and as it's only about 70/80 miles from me, I'm tempted, severely, to go along to see all the cars (but most importantly see off our briskoda entrants)

So, what time is the best time to arrive to get plenty of time to take piccies of cars, and is it on the Saturday or Sunday morning? ( I know I can check the website  ) Who else is going, Q?

Its Saturday morning, start from 10am IIRC. And as said previously, I will be there with ball and chains.

surely that ball & chain will impede your driving a little bit?

How much to not spill the beans about the weekend's expenditure?

Leave him alone - His gram-mar isn't as good as ours. :D

PS: I'm going to try and be there for around 8.30 - 9am on the day then - if that gives me enough time for piccies before the 10am start.

Web site is http://www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk/ All the details are on there. We aim to be there early as were mad enough to be going. Im terrible with names so if I give you that I know you look to anyone introduce yourself

If last years start was anything to go by its great fun for all ages, the kids love the obvious Ferraris etc & its amazing to see some of the modded cars, look out for my mates Black Range Rover, Having work done on it at the moment & by Friday it should give 620 bhp.

If you bring the family there is always the Castle to look round & I am sure you could organise a mini meet at a Pub nearby

Loking forward to seeing some of you

620HP Range Rover - Jesus H Christ! (not trying to blaspheme) - How'd you get that kind of power out a range rover??? Must be a V8 with monster turbo...?

4.6 HSE + Serious Re Map + something called I believe NITROUS, Hope the old Landy transmission is up to it !!!

Did a bit of film work last night with some of the cars coming in the Horsham area.

The Yellow Supra & the PINK RX7 are just awesome & I was mighty impressed with the VX220 Turbo, it must be somewhat modded, also the "Blues Brothers" in the American Police car complete with flashing lights & siren turned a few heads.

The Rangerover is still not ready & it looks like they are aiming for about 500 bhp for reliability & will probably leave virtually un tested.

Yes I'm EXCITED, today is going to be a long day, felt like we should have been leaving last night

May be bringing a mate or two along with me - now that I told them the list of entry cars. They both started to dribble a little bit - especially when I mentioned a 600HP BMW M3.

The M3 may not make it, it was being shipped from the states & I believe it may be still stuck in Customs, Still theres always the 800 bhp Supra or the triple rotor RX7, thats 600 bhp I think

Will post again when I get back

They didn't dribble when I told them a vRS was entering. They actually started laughing... and I thought my car would have made them get over their skoda prejudices by now!

See you there Stuart - arriving about 8.15, I reckon.

Stuart doesnt have a vRS, but a 4x4 IIRC, Jason.

oops - I'd say it doesn't make any difference, but I'd probably get a smack in the mouth on arriving at the start... :D
