Petrol maxidots?

Featured Replies

I think they're maxidot going off the part numbers, but the speedometer is in KPH as they've come from Ireland.

I'd be surprised if it is a Maxidot.

The listing says it has come out of a 2009 (FL) Elegance. Maxidot was a £135 option on the Elegance, although it was standard with DSG.

The listing doesn't mention whether the car was a manual or auto though.

I wonder if Maxidot was standard on the Elegance in Ireland? As a general rule the Irish cars had a higher standard spec.

I really don't know sorry guys, just thought I'd post in case as I know the petrol guys are always saying how rare they are. I think my maxidots came from an auto (seller seemed to recall it was) but the display disappeared in my manual car. I am sure Eddie_nl told me it would be fine as it sorts itself out, his word is pretty much gospel on such matters.

Yeah my maxidot came from a manual car but as soon as it was told it had an auto gearbox the PRNDS appeared on the bottom.

The part number is listed as 1Z0920843B

According to PartsBase, this is:

combi-instrument; display unit for maxi-check; package; BUD,CAXA; BSE,BSF,CCSA; CHGA; CDAA,CDAB; PR-U4A+9Q2

So it's a maxidot set of clocks.

It's much harder to tell from just pictures on facelift clusters as they both have a full size LCD unlike the pre-facelift.

I'm pretty sure the dial faces should swap across from the current clocks of the purchaser?

Are the numbers in the same place? Or can you tell it whether it's got MPH or KPH face?

Dunno if this helps work it out? I know I can change mine to display mileage in KM. Maybe the big display will show MPH and the person could live with that.

I think the range is different.

Looking at the top we have 80MPH roughly level with the chrome trim, the kmh clocks has 120KMH in the same position. 120KMH is about 74MPH, 80MPH is 130KMH.

240kmh is 150MPH (149.129 to be precise).

What a shame..ah well, sorry to waste your time folks :D

Can't you just swap the faces over then change it with VCDS to tell it it's in a country that has miles (UK)?

It seems odd as both vehicles should theoretically have the tame top speed, the difference between 0 and that top speed on the dials is the same so surely the increments between them should be right? I confuse myself with this stuff, its borderline maths...I'll have none of that thanks!

It may sound stupid but would it be ok to fit this to may 2007 vrs?

Not really suitable you need pre fl ones, that said I think Eddie_NL can fit them in. Send him a PM and he will let you know

look for 1Z0920943 B,F,K this number is for FL mph version, 942 are pre FL

Guys this is confusing.

Can anyone tell me definitively what the PN is for the VRS Facelift MPH Petrol maxidot cluster?

There are many versions depending on the model year, it's also answered in your other thread ;)http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/390809-4-spoke-mfsw/?p=4549110

Thanks. Sorry I have an annoying habit/luck of getting into a project, then being distracted by a fault that saps my funds, so I end up forgetting I've already asked the questions.

Cheers!
