Hi does anyone know where I can buy a cigarette lighter- removal tool, code T40148

Something dropped in and it went bang, think it blew a wire off. Need it for my satnav. Car is a MK2 octavia fsi 4x4 estate, any suggestions to fix it very much appreciated.

Mine also popped when a coin fell in it... Fortunately it was only the fuse that needed replacing (25A). I now have a plastic cap on it

It is most likely the fuse will have blown and that is all that is wrong..

First thing I did was to change the fuse, but no joy.

Wow... I bet this amazon shop doesn't make many sales....

I have found that my local Halfords have been quite helpful when it comes to someone just "popping out to the car because you don't sell the tool I need" approach has worked a number of times for me :-)

That is only a modest hike on the Amazon.com price.

This assumed they have the tool in their tool kits of course.  In my case I needed some pioneer removal keys, and they didn't have any on the shelf which said "pioneer" (although I am sure some of the others hanging there would have done the job).... free is a much better solution!!  I always believe there is no harm in asking :-)
