front splitter

Featured Replies

Thinking about buying a cupra spoiler for my octavia mk1 vrs is it a straight forward fit or does it need modified in any way to suit?

Slight modification needed to the posts on the splitter or cut two holes in the bumper for the splitter to clip into.

They look nice, but over £30 now? Plus it wouldn't last 2 minutes round here judging by the new scuffs I spotted on my underside bumper today.

Over £45 new!

Very expensive. I spent the day yesterday taking off the bumper and lower air duct, going through the lanes and ripped the air duct clean off. A splitter wouldn't last long as our bumper is low as it is and I'm stock height!

Same here I'm standard height and get enough scuffs.

Thanks for the help I've changed my mind it's not worth it if it's just gonna get ripped off didn't think it would make that much difference with it being standard height and didn't think they were that expensive neither

They didn't used to be but when vag realise thinks become popular across the range or have more than one application the price seems to shoot up. The same happened with the lower brace. Plus it's stuff for older cars so it becomes more expensive to keep in stock as they dont shift many and they have to move them around. If I lived in the city I may fit one but be very wary of speed bumps and car parks. Admittedly standard height along the car isn't that low but the front chin/valance doesn't give too much clearance. You can get used ones occasionally for around 30 but it's up to yourself. Sounds like you've made your mind up.

I'm slightly lower than standard (due to smaller tyres) and my splitter is fine. Just stick it on with plenty of nails.

I've hit curbs in car parks with some force... and it didn't even budge ;)
