Green Filter - K&N Oil

Featured Replies

I have a green filter on my vRS and happen to have a K&N Filter cleaning kit lying about the garage, do you think there would be any harm in using the K&N products on the green filter when i come to clean it??

Im not sure if the oils have the same properties

One way to find out

Can't see them being that different in all honesty.

i thought the green was not an oil based filter so oil should not be applied when cleaning?? this is the reason why people on here go for them over the k&n as it doesnt block up the maf ??

I e-mailed some tuners about this and they all said not to do it as the two oils were slightly different. The cleaning fluid itself can be used on either though, just the oil shouldn't be :D

Both Green and K&N need to be re-oiled after cleaning.....

Dude, if anyone in here can properly clean air filters and not over-oil them, there will never be a problem. Otherwise, Green is pretty much the same ****.

thats what i thought.... but every time a which air filter to go for thread comes up it always seems to be the mentality that green is better (less oily) then K&N...but i have said things go wrong when you clean them and put too much oil on..
