Too Young to Drive, but not too Young to Love Cars!

Featured Replies

Hi,

As you've probably guessed, I'm Sam. I'm 15 (almost 16) so cannot get myself a car just yet, but spend many hours on AutoTrader and eBay looking at potential first cars, and it's come to my attention that Skodas fit my price range very well! The most recent chariot I've been looking at is a 1.9 TDi Octavia Mk2, which I must say does look rather awesome! But for now, I'm over in the land of the Frenchies with a 2001 Renault Scenic... Now to set the record straight, I had no option in the car - which explains why it packs a 1.4l 16v Engine and a rather bad clutch! It's also in one of Renault's lower trim levels, so comes equipped with the best of features, a Tape Player! It's currently sat on around 104,000 miles and really is in need of a service... It's just a shame my parents don't understand how important it is to service a car (as its last recorded service was 2008, at 86,000 miles)...

I've been studying Engineering at my local colleges, but they've taught the subject on a more Motor Vehicle like aspect (because when I started the course, a Motor Vehicle GCSE didn't exist). So, I do have a slight bit of mechanical knowlege, and cannot wait to get out on the road for myself!

Hope to be around here for many years to come, and hopefully a Skoda will serve me well!  :p

Welcome to Briskoda! My wife had a 2002 Scenic and it was pretty reliable. Hers was a Dynamique and had a 6 disc changer under the passenger seat..might be worth checking?

Thanks! This one does have a CD Autochanger in the boot, although it doesn't appear to be an OEM Unit, and seems to be very poorly fitted! This is Authentique trim, so we don't even have things like Air Conditioning, which means it's like a greenhouse in the summer...  :D
