Remote central locking

Featured Replies

Hi all, ok , first post so hope I can get some help ,

Just bought a 'w' reg tdi saloon very happy so far :)

Has usual central locking gremlins so new control unit on way but my question is does my car have remote locking??

Didn't get any fobs etc and keys are just normal??

Was remote locking an option at factory?

Any help appreciated , thanks !

Call skoda with the reg plate they will tell you easily

if it just has 2 non remote keys then chances are it doesn't have factory remote locking. You can add factory remote locking & get flip remotes made but the CCM would have to be changed for 1 with built in remote locking. This is very straightforward to do & i've done it for customers with various VAG

Thanks fellas, would it be possible to install an aftermarket remote kit to the existing central locking system? How easy or hard is it to do?

yes you can fit an aftermarket kit. They're cheap enough to buy & wire into the original central locking loom. Not as good as a genuine VAG CCM & remote key though. CCM's aren;t even that expensive 2nd hand. Sometimes get them for £10-20 but usually pay about £30-40. Then i make them a remote key
