Do I really need a service..

Featured Replies

It's that time of year again, the annual service is due and I'm looking forward to this years damage. (Fresh paint stick and large quantity of T Cut at the ready) and I've rang the dealer on their dedicated customer focused service booking hotline.

RING RING RING RING RING.......after 5 minutes of listening to robot girl (and the coughing and phones ringing in the recording) tell me my call IS important to them I gave up.

I could just ring the dealer direct, oh but hang on they won't let me speak to the actual service department for bookings.

SILLY ME!!! Perhaps I should of booked it when they rang me 2 weeks ago (over 6 weeks before the service is due) and asked me "was I thinking of using them for my service" and "do ya wanna book it in noow". An air of desperation springs to mind, like I have a choice, they've bought all but one of my local dealers, and the one they didn't would even get my wheel barrow for its annual service.

I really miss dealers of old that were attentive and didn't make me feel like just another REG number.

So do I REALLY have to get it serviced.....it's just oh so stressful.

Think you need to find a new dealer!

When I ring mine up I just ask to speak to the service dept. Get put straight through.

Not that I've taken it to a dealer for a while. I've resorted to my own servicing since the warranty expired.

I used the online booking service through the Skoda website, gave me a choice of dealers and allowed me to check which days where available before booking which helped, because the 2 dealers in my area were something like 3 weeks time whereas the local service centre was 2 days time, tough choice but, finally I caved in and went to the service centre.  Picked up and dropped off the loaner (mighty Lambo well OK twas a ****tygo but, fun none the less) at times/dates of my choice, even asked if I wanted it washed or NOT and a great all round service.

Try the online booking service you never know it might throw up an alternative you hadn't considered.

I'm losing the will to live.

I tried the dealer via email last year, I'm still waiting for a reply now.

Just tried ringing again.

RING RING RING RING RING, your call is important to us..cough cough ring ring...RING RING RING RING RING your call is important to us cough cough ring ring RING RING RING RING. ARGHHHHHHHHH!!

PLEASE, SOMEONE PUT ME OUT MY DEALER MISERY.

I may take up the suggestions as above later, thanks.

Frustrating.   I managed to ring a dealer last Thursday and book mine for its first service.  That was ok until they said they could find no record of the service pack I purchased with the car.... I swiftly called the original dealer I bought from..... Still waiting the promised call back.   Grrr.

servicing is the right word, when you put a bull in the field it services the cow, I often get the feeling we are being well and truly serviced by so many companies nowadays.

It isn't Lookers is it - I hate going through their automated multi brand booking centre.

but I might try the online booking thingy as I need a service in about 3 weeks
