didnt know it wasnt one ;)

only looked at it because of price. will keep  an eye out for a da

That's not the kind of Polisher (Heavy Rotary/Angle grinder type) I would recommend for a beginner

You need a DA... + You're not going to get a lot of change from £150 for a DA and pads&polish

For another £10, you can get a DA6 Pro from Cleanyourcar, through the detailing world group buy and get top service and a good guarantee - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=207877

Thankyou.  I notice it comes with a5" and 6" back plate and says it fits 5", 6" and 6.5" pads.  Wouldn't 5.5" pads also fit the 5" plate?

My experience is a little limited, but I'm sure one of the others will answer that for you a little later. I'm still well and truly at the bottom of the learning curve with this. :giggle:  I had 5.5 hexlogic pads supplied for use with my 5 inch pad if that helps.

Excuse me jumping in on this thread, but having been told I can have a DA for my birthday so the question is if I go the CYC pro route as recommended above what pads would you guys recommend?

The alternative would look to be Dodo Buff Daddy but the "kits" all seem to be the Da6 equivalent rather than the Pro.

As I have been using Megs Ultimate by hand so far on 6 month old Yeti and have some unopened SRP etc so not planning anything too ambitious yet, but some older family cars might be in the pipeline.

With da's look at the motor wattage. Higher the better, if I remember the pro is 850w and the buff daddy is less. Looking at CYC the CYC das6 pro plus looks very good but does cost more.

I'd go for the menz kit but a lot is down to personal preference
