First Skoda - Bought a Yeti - Hi!

Featured Replies

I recently decided that as much as I love my 2007 Civic TypeR (and I really do, best standard road car I've ever owned) I really needed something a bit better on juice and was capable of towing the MX5 on a trailer to race meets etc. I spent weeks researching different options and looked at 3 series tourings, passat estates, Freelanders etc etc. The Yeti was mentioned by someone somewhere but I don't remember who. Went to see a few and settled on this one.

2009 2.0TDI (140bhp) 4x4 in Elegance spec. Options added when new include Park Assist and Panoramic Roof. 49,000 miles and full Skoda history.

My first Skoda and first time back in the VAG family for a while.

Probably not going to mod it but we'll see, maybe a cheeky remap in a few months and MDI for my iPod.

Should be picking it up Saturday as it neeed 4 new boots and a cambelt and water pump which the dealer is doing.

Also. I've already bought a Briskoda sticker, a yeti sticker and a fluffy yeti for the wife to cuddle on long journeys.

awesome car mate, really jealous of the sunroof, wish ours had one! and the heated seats are a god send on the frosty mornings.

hope it returns many years of happy service for you :)

Cheers all.

I will miss the civic but the Yeti has the task of towing this cheeky little number:

220bhp of supercharged 1600cc madness.

Looks very nice.

Sunroof was at the top of my 'Yeti shopping list' and, like you, I'm glad I did.

Great choice of first Skoda.

The Yeti has arrived and I took it out for a McD's drive through lunchtime potter.

Very happy over all with a only a couple of gripes. The new tyres that were fitted were supposed to be mid range. They're not, they're budgets of a brand I have never heard of. The 2nd thing is they have cleaned the leather with what I can only assume is some kind of sex lube, slippery isn't the word, ha ha.

I found you have to be careful with which leather cleaner you use as it does make the seats (and steering wheel) very slippery.

Same with cleaning the rubber floor mats.

I like the key ring. Was that a McD's Happy Meal?

No. I searched ebay for "Yeti Keyring" and this came up. It's a Lego Minifigure from Series 11 I think that someone has turned into a keyring. I actually already had the Yeti Minifigure as my wife collects them but hadn't thought of making a keyring from one.

I'd check the load ratings on the Budget Tyres are the correct ones for the Yeti, actually I'd have wanted them removed and Mid Range tyres fitted as promised.
