Felicia gearbox adapters

Featured Replies

Do I have this right? The adapter found on the 1.6 is for mounting "small" block engines and the adapter found on the diesel is for mounting "large" block engines to the skoda 'box?

The short answer is yes, the long answer is no, all the bolts line up but it makes the big hlock engines sit at the wrong angle, its not impossible to overcome but it has a few difficulties you need to overcome.

Wrong angle? Tilted back / forward in engine bay?

I remember skury having fitted a 1.8t to a skoda gearbox, I'll admit I have been thinking about this recently.

Are you after just the plate and fly wheel as I do arrange delivery I mite even have a clutch and plate as well

yes, the aef Diesel engine leans forwards like the small block petrol engines do, so if you attach it to an engine that is supposed to lean back it causes all sort of problems.. You are far better off doing a transplant properly and using the proper gearbox that is supposed to be with the donor engine, I know this makes it more troublesome sorting out the gear linkage and driveshafts etc, but in the long run its a better solution.
