I did a 100 mile round trip in a nasty Citroen yesterday. The only good bit was the dab was flawless. I have sent the following to Skoda UK.

 

I am having on going problems with the Columbus DAB in my November 2014 Octavia L&K. It has been in to Skoda at Exeter for checking and has had its software upgraded to 0390.
 
I had a hire car yesterday and did a trip from Exeter to Bristol in a rather horrible Citroen C4. The one positive about the car was that the DAB did not loose signal for the entire trip.
 
By comparison my Octavia with a top of the range Columbus with Canton only gets coverage on half of the trip. At the moment I am using my mobile phone through the iPhone connection to get digital radio.
 
Looking on the Briskoda site, tis is a common problem. The latest update helped, but did not get close to solving the problem.
 
Could you tell me what the current plans are to resolve this issue? Does it need a signal booster or perhaps an external antenna? Alternatively can I upgrade to the new Columbus MIB2 if that solves the problem?

Mine is slightly better after upgrading to 0390, but it still drops out in areas where my previous O3 didn't.

 

Only differences are the software and hardware revisions on the Columbus, and the previous car was a hatch and the new one is an estate.

 

Personally, I think the estate needs an external aerial.

Heading north tomorrow so will try and remember to tune to a dab only station from Exeter see what happens

Listened to 'kiss' all the way yo the road today which I think is dab only - well our neck of the woods anyway. Unfortunately it was fine also through Exeter to Cullompton, in fact all the way to Darlington

To clarify - I'm unfortunately for garnett it worked fine

So maybe it depends on the multiplex - Garnett what station do you listen to that keeps dropping out?

Hi - I listen to both BBC National and LBC so different multiplexes. I am encouraged that others work so there should be a way to fix it!
