Fitting double din problem help

Featured Replies

Bought alpine double din and fascia fitting kit took standard stereo out then plugged new 1 in it worked I turned up volume a little then just went off and won't come on the fuse hasn't gone I have checked but the stereo works when plugged in my other car so I don't know what's wrong here any ideas ?

How did you check the fuse? And did you check both the fuse in the head unit amd the one in the car?

Yeah checked head unit fuse and the number 45 radio fuse on right side of the dash

Has it got an inline fuse?

Check for voltage on the wiring loom.

Not sure what you mean by inline fuse but it's got a little box desperate from stereo which the power battery wire runs threw and the fuse is in that small box

Separate I mean stupid predictive tx lol.

Need to check for voltage at the switched and permanent lives really. Could be the s-contact fuse (position 10, 5A) blown as this controls the switched live via the s-contact on the ignition switch

Will take another look tomorrow then hopefully get it sorted.

The 10 fuse 5a has blown is it best to replace with same or a bigger fuse ?

Always fit the same rating. Could have blown due to shorting out while installing. Try replacement with the same fuse rating and see if it works or blows again
