Plates.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just bought a private plate to go on my 2014 Citigo.

Obviously I'll need to wait for the certificate of authentication/ownership to arrive, but when it has, I shall be getting my plates made up.

I wanted to ask, are the 3D gel style pressed plates road legal? As far as I can see on the DVLA website, as long as they are reflective, legally spaced, etc, they're fine.

Also, it mentioned something about having the postcode on it. Where does the postcode get put?

Thanks for your help,

Cameron

As long as they have the postcode of the maker usually central at bottom of plate and a british std number on the top right of the correct bs number then in theory they are legal.

I cant say if they are legal or no but they need to conform to BS145d and must be stamped with the BS mark.

They also must have the postcode and name of the supplier in the centre at the bottom.
