Rear bumper protector

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if Skoda do a protection film/strip to fit onto the rear bumper to stop it getting scratched ? when my dog gets in.

We used to apply a 3M clear protection film (about 1/16th" thick) to aircraft struts which would be one way......it was tough as! .....and self adhesive.

Another recommendation for 3M clear protection film.

I was going to fit the Rearguards protector as it seems good quality but changed my mind and got a 100 x 20cm piece of clear 3M helicopter tape from eBay.

It's the same stuff as fitted to the rear wheel arches as standard.

The genuine skoda one matches all the other silver parts perfectly:

The only concern I've got with the genuine Skoda one is that it doesn't seem to go over the curved lip, which is the bit that is most likely to scratch or get marked (has already happened on our Outdoor).

If it doesn't, what's the point!

Well our mutt has jumped in & out repeatedly and there are no marks on the edge....

Or at least there weren't right up until the point the bumper got destroyed in the accident!

^^^^my point is, if you have to manhandle/drag something awkward over the edge it'll miss the protector where it's most wanted .
