vag-com laptop interface??

Featured Replies

Reading through various posts the "vag-com" interface seems to control most of the computer settings and funcionality on Skodas. Being a computer consultant by trade and a time served engineer, it wouldn't be too much to construct an interface to connect a laptop to the vag-com interface on the Octavia. All that is needed would be the pinout of the two connectors and I could have full control of my car. :) Anyone know what the pinouts are? or Anyone already done it?

Suggest you look at the vag-com forum, or the website for the manufacturers of VAG-COM (which, by the way, is a commercial product not connected with the VAG group) at http://www.ross-tech.com. It's not quite as simple as pin-outs, unfortunately.

I believe the new Octavia requires a can-bus interface which renders most of the cheaper cables available on the internet useless. Others will know more than I.

I looked for a vag-com forum but couldn't find one... I found ross-tech and the downloads etc..

Do you mean a forum on a site other than Briskoda?

The pin outs should be standard for all ISO OBD equiped cars - thats the idea of it.

What you will need is the circuitry inside, AFAIK it's not a pass through lead.

Leads can be bought from

There are VAG-COM and diagnostic forums on the major VAG owners forums' date=' eg www.SEATcupra.net and http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/ amongst others.
