HELP !! Hewlett Packard Engineer needed in Hampshire

Featured Replies

Any HP Engineers out there who want a small job ??

Ive got a HP designjet 430 & the on/off switch is broken. Ive managed to use sellotape to jam it in the on position & now switch it on & off at the mains

can anyone help before I have to call the upteen pound/hour man in the Yellow pages.

Id be quite happy if it was hard wired on & I always turn it on at the mains

PM me if you can help

Im about 5 miles from Winchester

Stuart,

Can you not carefully open the case and then either solder or insulate tape the switch contacts to be always on?

Or visit www.rswww.com and order a new switch / replace it. Fairly painless given todays mass production mentality of click pop fittings etc.

If I was in the area I'd do it :D

Mind you Heath Robinson gene's have been found near to my fixes ;)

Its working OK ish at the moment & Im scared !!!

I have this vision of removing the case & a load of bits dropping out & having no idea how to re assemble it. It looks like you have to remove the complete casing to get to the switch

Ps when your next around your more than welcome to pop in, board lodgings & food provided if reqd

Is that an open invitation to anyone with a screwdriver and soldering iron ? ;)
