anyone?

People have had seats fixed after longer than 12 months.

Ask them to show you the bit in the warranty book where it says that upholstery has a shorter limit

Rubbish.

I had my drivers seat cover replaced on my Octy vRS at 12K and two years old. Ask them to point out in the warranty terms and conditions, which relate to the car at the date at which it was sold (not current terms, as they are irrelevant - the car was sold with a warranty at a certain level when it was built, and that is the level it should still be covered at) the exact clause excluding upholstery etc from the 3Yr 60K warranty.

If they can't, and still say no, mention 'Trading Standards', 'Auto Express', 'Watchdog' and then ring Skoda CS.

Utter rubbish... Its covered by the 3 years 60K warranty..

Skoda dealers and Skoda CS sometimes make these things up and try to put you off....

As has already been stated ask to see written documentation to back up there claim..

cheers

Dazz

The seat seems to be particularly weak where the white mesh meets the leather, and it would seem a common problem after looking at the threads here. The comment the dealer has made though is complete rubbish, if you have no joy then try a different dealer. The problem happens on cars old and new and evertime someone posts on here skoda have come up with some excuse or other.

cheers for the advice guys, i'll be straight down to the local dealer in Great Yarmouth tomorrow to give them some ****

i have one month warranty left, is there any common faults i should be having them check for?

I have an email somewhere from the factory saying they changed the material (obviously there was an issue with it). To be honest since changed mine look as good as the day they were put in.

Don't let them off with it.

Dodgy hazard switch, coil packs, seat weat (obviously) and, I believe, drop links.

I had a defective hazard switch when I got the car too! (along with a whole list of other things)

And my drivers seat is starting to fluff up after only 4000Kms driving. Is that a record?

The car is currently sitting in the dealers awating parts... :thumbdwn:

The cushioning of my drivers seat has collapsed on my Octy Vrs 52 plate (75k).So all i can feel is the ridge upon where the foam should sit.Im going to see a upholsterer to see if he can repair it.

Has anyone else had this problem ?
