At least when its all fixed & back together you should have a nice motor that will last you for another 122k :D which garage in york is fixing it?

A garage called Verities out at escrick, if you would like anymore info about them, pm me or pop in and have chat Mike

Just wondered which one was fixing it as i know a few lads in the york area with garages (was just being nosey!)  :D

So was it poor quality of the replacement valves that caused the failure..is that what the garage suspect?

It's the only thing I can think of?? These engines are usually very solid, hence why I struggled to find a replacement, if the timing belt had gone I could understand.

Quick question, is the fuel pump programmed to the ECU?

My temper is about to get the better of me, garage has just phoned me and said the car will not be finished for this Thursday and their main machanic is going on holiday for two weeks, no F$%king car for five weeks!!!!! and they have said that autodata has said it should take 29 hours to swap engines??? WTF is this true?? and to top it off they have sent me a link to a car rent company!!!! cheeky tw...

I feel for you mate, hope it gets sorted soon. Might be worth buying a banger rather than renting? My mechanic has courtesy cars one of the reasons I always use him.

Just a quick follow-up, the car is back now and running luvly:) all in the car has had two engines built together to make one, a new clutch, full serive, re-gas of aircon and a new injector plus all the gaskets

And this is the make Mr Brown smile bit, the bill for the labour was only £523! I had to double check to make sure I was reading right? I even asked as I'm a man who like to be honest and no, it was correct? I was told it was low due to all the messing around.

It's nice to see there are some good people out there.

Glad you got sorted in the end mate, and nice price for the hassle too!
