VRS help

Featured Replies

Hi all I'm going to see a 2006 VRS tomorrow, which has an intermittent power steering light coming when the car starts up.

It's a shot in the dark, but are there any known issues with the Fabia power steering.

Sounds like it needs a new battery and possibly a repair to the load sensor wire, check that the battery light comes on with the ignition.

Check power steering reservoir level..

As far as I can recall, the power steering pump is worked by electric.

Most notieable at night with head-lights on and turning steering in a hard lock left/right, where head-lights momentarily drop in brightness..

As above member states, get battery tested...sensor wire..

Thanks for the help, well the good news is I bought the VRS it was a straight and mint one and after week of seeing dogs this was the best and I paid ok money for it.

As for the light I think it might be part of the cycling phase so if anyone can confirm that would put my mind at rest, I will of course be checking the fluids over the next week though to make sure they are all at the correct levels.

So when I turn the ignition on all the lights come on, the power steering warning light comes on for a few seconds then goes off and stays off.

I have no issues with steering and all the electrics work without any issues, if anyone can confirm if what I am seeing is just part of the start up Christmas tree light effect I would be grateful.
