Advice needed asap, got my brothers wedding at 3pm

Featured Replies

Hi guys heard what sound like a pop, similar to a boost pipe, popped the hood and there is water on the bonnet above the coolant tank l, can these explode? It was making an awful noise, which seems r have gne now it's cooled down, rang tps to get a new header tank just in case but just wanted to see if anyone had a previous similar issue, I don't have time to tinker with it just need to do what ever as I have just over an hours drive to the wedding venue

Thanks

Was there any lights on dashboard. Did the temp gauge rise above halfway? Ive never heard of tank exploding. Would say a pipe has split.

Until you have the time to examine fully i wouldnt be driving it any distance :-(

No nothing came up on dash and the temp didn't rise but when I popped the bonnet and gave it a little Rev water came out of the expansion tank

Have you checked the seal inside the lid.

No but just found a hole in the pipe that connect to the turbo it's got a huge hole in it looks like it's been rubbing on the drive shaft, it's an airtech front mount

If your desperate to use the car I'd say drive 've it but make sure you have plenty of water to top up as soon as low coolant light comes on.

I drove mine without an expansion lid for a day or two as it was desperate.

Couldn't you put some gaffa tape on the hole?
