Weird AC behaviour

Featured Replies

Last couple of times I have been out the AC in the Octy has been playing up. The car is nearly 8 years old (owned for 4.5 years) and I have never had it re-gassed, not sure about the first owner.

The other day it blew hot air on the lowest setting, the higher I made the temp 25-28 the cooler it got, once cool I could turn it back down to the 19/20

The next 2 occasions the wife has been with me, she turns to 16 to cool quickly, but it works better at 20-22. Anyone had this before? Could it just need topping up or is something else amiss?

My AC is always on, auto is how I use it after ruining AC in my old Civic by not using it.

A service would be a cheap start to eliminate any leaks or low refrigerant level. A top up plus lubricant top up plus leak detection was available at Autokool Ltd in Derbyshire for around £39. I was there as a  customer only recently.

gonna get the wife to take it in to her work. Think the wheel bearing is going too so worth a try. I just though it would stop getting cold, not operate at odd settings, lol
