Standard dv or forge 007p

Featured Replies

Is it OK to run with standard dv at stage 2. My mates having a few troubles with his 007p. Iv got a 007p but thinking about going back to standard and selling it on. What are your thoughts?

I went back to standard, I'm only stage 1 but the 007 still needed spring tuning and servicing and frankly I couldn't be arsed. I know the spring wasn't quite right but my car ran much better after swapping back. I don't see why it can't cope with stage 2. I would say though up towards that region I'd probably say it's worth trying to tune the 007 correctly, but don't be surprised if you end up getting fed up with it. Does your mate know you can also use shims to preload the spring? May help if he's in between settings. Also service kits have a revised piston now better at preventing leaks, have you put one of those in? Hope that helps

By the way I had quite a few bids on mine and it went for over £80...not too bad

Standard can cope with 30psi all day. Perfectly fine for pretty much whatever tuning you do

i've used them all 007 ok if tuned properly split r good too just ignore forge settings and tweak yourself as required stock was ok too but settled on dv008 with full spring kit as quick responding and nice to look at too lol just a revised 007 but i miss sound of split r valve and was excellent once i'd ignored the forge setting and just spent time messing about with the clicks

Might stick it up for sale then n just run standard. Can go towards a fmic or exhaust lol.

My mates piston has the seal around it but mine doesn't. His does a double dump and sounds strange. We tried mine on it and still did the same. Going to try standard on it and see what it's like. Will I lose alot of dump noise? Iv got a ramair filter on and it sounds ace.

Nowt wrong with the standard one imho - only reason to get the 007 one is for bling/noise factor and because you really like regular maintenance.

Makes sense if going for really big power but tbh if you're going 300bhp+ a recirc valve is the least of your shopping list :)

You'll lose some of the noise but it's still audible with modded intakes.

I've got the same ramair kit with standard dv, sounds awesome ;)

:) I'll stick it on ebay then.

Ive got a standard DV and standard airbox with the n249 bypassed and its pretty loud

Hi sorry to hijack your thread but I have a forge dumpvalve on mine which the previous owner installed, would like to put it back to standard as it sounds a bit to boy racer for my liking, what's involved in this process and cost of the original part if you don't mind me asking.

Here's your valve on ebay, item number

251951954077 will be plus whatever clips and hosing you need I guess. You may find it runs better with recirc, our systems don't like losing measured air to atmosphere.
