Yeti driving newbie says "Hello"

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Had my Yeti for about a week now, 4x4 auto L&K, how do i get the cig lighter/power socket to switch off with the ignition. I've got the phone charger plugged into it but have to unplug it everytime i leave the vehicle?

Haha same as my Roomster. Im going to use a piggy back fuse holder in the fuse box, something like rear wiper should do it. Then run some wires and fit a new socket somewhere discreet.

Seems to be a VAG thing, have a Polo with the same feature.

Welcome. Sounds like a gorgeous choice of Yeti.

The 12v socket is a permanent live so it won;t switch off.

However, leaving the charger plugged in (but no device attached) is very unlikely to drain the battery even if left in for few days.

I have a Belkin single USB charger socket with a green LED on it and have left that plugged in for several days without using the car (no cables connected to it) and it has been just fine.
