MK1 VRS boost pipe seals? Where can I buy them?

Featured Replies

Hi. I'm looking for a set of new boost pipe seals for my mk1 vrs. Wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. Cheers!

Dealers will be the best place really, they have a few different sizes so watch out also.

TPS are good as well but some stores only serve trade only and won't deal with the public.

Will give that a shot. Thanks. Anyone got a roughly how much they are?

Two thread?

Had a nightmare of a time trying to get some, first one the dealer gives us is huge, second was small.

Still not sure what the right part number is

Have tried 3co 145 117 and one ending in D.

Still leaks, probably worse.

I'm trying to find some reasonable aftermarket ones at the mo.

I will dig out a reciept later tonight as i bought them recently from the dealer, 2 seals were a tenner easy to get the correct one by looking at the screen in the dealers and pointing them out in the schematic. Will pop the part number on when i get home from work.

I bought mine from TPS. You're in for a shock at the price though... £7 each I think they were

Bear in mind new seals may not stop them leaking, you're best to pull them apart and check the condition of the lugs on the connectors. Sometimes these wear. Very poor design really a lot of people just zip tie them up or fire a few self tapping screws to keep the joint together. Even then they are still a bit leaky though especially the lower inter-cooler one.

Wasted a lot of money on seals for my old Fabia. Didn't stop leaks.

The only failsafe leak repair is to do away with billet connectors altogether.

Pikey cable tie mod, works wonders! Lol

Hi Jay,

Did you ever manage to find the receipt.

The ones they gave me can't be right. Worse than ever..

Think I'm going to get some heat shrink.

Take your old ones and match them up?

Hiya mate, sorry i totally forgot about this post.

The seal part numbers are

Smaller one for turbo end 3c0145117 £4.68

Larger boost pipe ones(black ones) 6q0145117a £3.29 each

Probably find that the lugs on the pipes are worn, i ended up fitting a front mount to cure the problem as had leaks everywhere and a hole in the intercooler

I'll warn you again, trying to bodge and repair the standard piping is a massive waste of money, especially seals and heat shrink. Ultimately the only real fix is to replace with good old fashioned pipes and hose clips so you know you have a seal.

Thanks Jay. Looks like we got the right one then.

Do you mean something like silicon hoses Jamwatn?

Need to find the right sizes. Had a look at the kits but they are over £200. Bit to much.

Looking at the silicone hoses they still use the metal connectors. this is what's leaking on mine. Must be something better.

Just reading that, the metal bit seems to be the issue.

Pretty much! Kits are pricey however they fix the problem all in one and apparently they work out cheaper in the end.

200 quid for hoses bugger that, 400 will get you a fmic snd pipework and good bye leaks
