2001 Fabia 1.4 estate washers suddenly stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

I thought i was low on washer fluid, topped up, tried them, a little came out, then stopped.

I can hear the pump working but sounds a higher pitch to me, front and rear not working at all

How do i gain access to pump ?

please help

thanks in advance

The pump is behind the NSF wheel arch liner at the front. You just undo a few T25 Torx screws and you can pull back the liner to get to the pump.

A very common issue is the pipe connections popping off. There are pipe connections at the pump, bulkhead, behind trim at the NSR wheel arch inside the car, and at the rear washer jet inside the tailgate. If the rear wheel arch one comes apart it allows washer fluid to leak into the car.

betcha it's a connection popped off, probably below the ECU on the bulkhead.

As Sepulchrave says - most likely place. To check- fire up rear washers, and drive car down road. Then look for wet patch on road. Next- AND most important- getbrid of the neat water in bottle and fill with a 50% wash solution. Water is too dense ( just like some garage techs) ,and forces pipe off under pressure.
