Fitting vrs top boost pipe

Featured Replies

Hi guys thinking if fitting a home made boost pipe from a guide on here but am unsure how it attaches to the car at the turbo. Could someone explain please?

The top doesn't fit to the turbo, it goes from EGR or delete pipe, to the top of the inter cooler.

Bottom pipe goes intercooler > Turbo.

Hopefully this picture will help you get a better feel for things

You can see why I need some advice on how it is fitted now! Ok so what do I need to remove to get a nice snug fit on to the intercooler? I imagine it is quite deep in the front bumper?

And yes the picture was very helpful thanks, where is it from?

What size are you doing the boost pipe from EGR to pipe to join intercooler? If that's the hose you are doing.

I have a Darkside developments push in fitting for a 57mm diameter pipe with the correct fitting to clip into the EGR for sale. :)

I think it is from ETKA, it's basically an illustrated list of components for VAG cars. Very useful! You can get access to it all over the Internet for free.

Thanks Ash, yeah I have seen it but there's nothing giving a guide to how it is fit. I'm intending on using this but can I fit it without taking anything off?

Yes you can mate, just slacken the drivers side headlight fixings off so you can wiggle it out a bit, this will give you easier (some) access to the metal clip holding the boost pipe connection in to the intercooler.

Thanks Ash you've been very helpful!

No problem and good look! Just be careful with you headlight clip bits where the bolts go through as they can be subject to going slightly brittle with age and on occasion don't need much persuasion to break  off (speaking from experience lol).
