Spark plug gap on remapped car?

Featured Replies

What should the gap be on spark plugs and should it be different if the car has been remapped?

Can't find a definate answer online.

The recommended gap is 0.8mm (0.0315").

If it's remapped then some folk claim they get better flame propagation with 0.7mm (0.0275") - something about the extra boost blowing out the spark on the bigger gap? (I have no idea).

Personally, I set up my remapped 1.8tsi at a loose 0.028" and it does the job for me.  I use Denso Iridium
