Cars you don't see every day! Meet with some right rare stuff- Talbot Alpine/Mitsubishi Starion..

Featured Replies

On Friday I headed to the somewhat misnamed '****efest' down in Wales.

A great bunch of folk, with a good mix of activities, and some very rare cars- highlights include an Izuzu Piazza and a Talbot Alpine..

A most easygoing time was had- and it was great fun to hang about with likeminded folks!

Bit of a blog about it here

We stayed the Friday night at the Llangollen Motor Museum- Camping in a field out the back.

Although facilities were very basic, the scene was stunning, and it had a veritable smorgesbord of scrap lying about to tempt us

We paid £4 for camping and £3 to get into the museum..worth it for the rocket cart alone!

Cheers-was a braw weekend!everyone was spot on.

Will likely be writing pt2 this evening-will pap it up later

Much quirkiness.  I like quirky  :sun:

Looking at the pics, I had a '72 Renault 16TL.  Proof, if ever it were needed, that VAG didn't invent fatal water ingress from the plenum!

It was an interesting car, which got more interesting when it started to change into reverse at 40mph  :dull:

The one present was stunning-proper class in a glass.

That said it was a tie between the 'Tina estate and the Scimitar for me..

Lorne sausage and tattie scone FTW!

Ideally on a big roll topped with a fried egg.

Cheers! Yeah it was a hoot-really good atmosphere:)

Sounds like a good time (and I thought I recognised the blog name, then I saw the E30 up top)!

Any idea of the story behind this? VW would be well into the 6n by a T-plate, unless it's an import?

the owner says:

"It was built in June 92, exported to Malaysia where it sat for about 6 and a half years before ending up in South Wales in early 99."

Cheers :)

I do love the G*0 cars though, I'd love a G60 golf
