Air con regas

Featured Replies

The aircon in the mk2 Octavia is known for being less powerful than that in the mk1 unfortunately.

cheers for that looks like I stand corrected :)   I didn't research it but assumed that the EU with their bovver boots on were at it again(must try harder  )    I see since that the new Jazz will keep it's 134   (cheers Honda)   however it looks like it should be a consideration for anyone (with an eye on running cost ) as to what make and model to buy in future     I recon the vast majority work on Badge, colour, etc etc    --  R1234YF will certainly be on my list to avoid  p.s.   still not voting for EU Dave :p

Well they aren't going to charge me for more, so its either not necessary or a gesture of goodwill

I've never worked on one and I'm commenting off what ive seen on youtube but I'm sure there is two hoses/pipes going to the compressor. Once these are cracked off to remove it the gas will escape. I think what they mean is because they've charged you once for the regass the second one will be free of charge. Although i have heard the gas isn't too cheap for the garages to buy.

Any idea why that is? It must be the compressor I'd guess.

I was in my dealer today and I was suprised at how cheap it was for an regas...£29 and a full aircon service wasn't much more

Was that at a Skoda main dealer? Last few days tells me mine needs looking at...
