So the 3x Porsche 919s have taken the fight to Audi and promptly stuck their cars on pole, 2nd and 3rd.

Like they have done at both other races this year. 1,2 at Silverstone and 1,2,3 at Spa

 

Who won those races?

 

Audi.

 

This could be an absolutely epic Le Mans. (with an s)

 

 

 

 

Mind you the fastest Porsche is 3 seconds faster than Audi and 6 seconds faster than Toyota.

 

Nissan have improved a lot since the test day - they've found another 10 seconds - so now only 20 seconds off pole.

They are pretty much where McHonda were at the start of the year in F1.

 

 

GT is going to be amazing with only 2 seconds covering the first 12 - although the lead Corvette is out after it was wrecked in the last session.

It's a great race so far with an hour to go - will this one push Audi out of LeMans and into the back of RedBull?

It was a cracking race. Eurosport did a reasonable job with the coverage. 

The only thing i found odd was the 991's bursting into flames. 1 in practice and 2 in the race. Most odd from one of the more reliable manufactures. 

Nissan have chucked their LMP1 project in the skip and withdrawn from WEC.
