Straight forward Q - How much oil in my 2013 Fabia Elegance 105 - that's all I ask, what's the amount to buy I know it's got to be VW507.00. Thanks.

 

Mk2 Fabia 1.6 TDI CR,  4.3 litres.

Sounds about right I had my last Fabia and that was what I thought.  Thanks, I needed to know, so I could add the correct amount of: Activ8 to the Engine Oil to reduce friction wear, it lasts for 5 Oil Changes before needing to be replenished.  I use this with my Yamaha (2 stroke) Motocross bikes trans oil and occasionally in with the 2 stroke mix. Thanks for the advice.

I would not bother,

it is a diesel and the VW 507 00 does a perfectly good job of lubricating and cooling.

Do you retail this stuff somewhere?

It's amazing what people will buy.

So you add this activ8 to the oil then somehow it magically stays in the engine even after you drop the oil out....anyone else smell that lol.

As said before the vw approved oil is more than good enough.

My concern would be if the Activate upset the DPF.  I can understand using an additive in a closed system like a gearbox.

 

When I was racing one of the guys was hooked on Bardahl additives.  I think he was only half joking when he proclaimed "I'll be taking the chequered flag this weekend.  I Bardahled the dipstick!"

My brother used a similar product (Slick 50, remember that) in a previous car and he ended up rebuilding the engine not long after. We have no idea why, but it simply decided to start burning oil. VW say not to use any fuel or oil additives as any oil that meets the required VW standard should not be chemically altered.

 

The car is under warranty still, and as such should be left as is.

Now things MIGHT have changed from MK1 's ( and this is a mk1 post area ), but in my MK1 TDI ,there is a warning not to add anything to oils /fuel ,as it can cause problems.

What oil is best used in the VRS?? And how much?

If not changing the Oil & Filter every 10,000 miles or sooner,  then Variable Servicing needs VW 504 00, which is 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long life.

(VW / Skoda Recommend Castrol Edge / Quantum lll Long Life)

Any VW 504 00 is fine though.

 

If doing Fixed Servicing Oil and Filter changes.

VW 502 00,  so  5w 40 Full Synthetic.

I now use Shell Helix Ultra, Castrol Magnatec, Comma or any Oil from Asda, Tesco or anyplace else to the correct spec.

 

The Oil Capacity given by VW / Skoda for the 1.4 TSI 132 kw Twincharger is 3.6 litres.
