1.4 16v (100bhp) cat

Featured Replies

hi does any one have a genuine skoda cat for a 2000 W reg 1.4 16v  (100bhp) for sale, also are ngk lamda sensors any good a mechanic said only to use skoda original ones  even though ngk make them for skoda  thanks chris

The cat is part of the exhaust manifold, it can't be removed and sold separately. Your mechanic is having a mental aberration, NGK are top quality parts, it's like telling you not to fit NGK spark plugs but only to use Skoda original plugs.

hi on my car the cat is not part of the manifold there is a short down pipe then a flexi which goes through the gear box then the cat. the car has the factory system on it there is a square joint flange just after the manifold and bank 1 lambda

This is your catalyst, look under the manifold heatshield and you'll see it.

There are two cats. One in each place mentioned. Is cat performance the problem, or a broken flexi?

Scrapyard is probably your best bet, or ebay.

6Q0254500AX looks to be the part number appropriate to your car (from here).

If it's the flexi joint, you might be better off getting a replacement joint welded in. Edit: I guess since you're also asking about sensors, it's emissions that are the problem.

Steve, I imagine the OP might be delighted to hear from you. Use PM though, it's not so 'in your face' for everyone else. ;)
