Monte Carlo 1.2 Tsi is going in for her 3rd year service in a couple of weeks time.

What is carried out during this service?

A Minor Service.

At a Franchised Dealership.?

Maybe.

Body Work Inspection. Noted in Service Book or online.

Oil & Filter replaced and Fluids Checked and topped up, Brake & Washer Fluid that should be.

Visual Inspection and report.

Tyres, Wipers, Suspension, Brake Discs / Pads at the Front, and if Discs at the rear.

Maybe some hinges lubed.

*Service Indicator reset.*

 

Depends.

Maybe put on the VAS and Diagnostic done & any Updates or Enhancements applied.

 

So ask.

Brake Fluid Replacement might be required, Extra Cost, you need to pay.

You might want rear drums off and Brakes inspected, maybe extra cost.

You might want a new Air Filter, Extra Cost.

You might want an Inline Fuel Filter changed.

Maybe spark plugs changed.

 

Ask them, depends on the Miles covered, 

What was done at the 1st Minor Service and the Second Major Inspection Service.

 

So how long is a piece of string.

Is it a £110 Service, a £140 Minor Service, or a Menu Service and report and actions.

Pre MOT and Warranty Expiring.

Should my plugs and air filter be changed during the 24mnth service I had done today? Monte tech 1.2tsi 105 done 17,500m. Looks like they should have been according to the link above but small print a bit ambiguous. It's on the 3yr free service programme.

Spark Plugs are not due to be changed with a 1.2 TSI.  40,000 miles schedule on them, but you might do them when ever.

 

The Air Filter should be checked, but again it is not a Service Item they change at a 2 year service,

but if it was dirty it should be, unlikely where you are, sitting in a city behind dirty buses in traffic soon gets them sooted up.

24 month service.   Major Service, (Inspection Service.)

 The Pollen Filter (Cabin Filter) should have been replaced.

 

The Body Inspection and any comments on damage should be in the Page in the Service Book,

or in the System if Service Details are on the Dealership / Skoda Computer.

 

@ 3 Years or Before the Brake Fluid needs changed if not done before.

You might need to request the Rear Brake Drums being removed and cleaned out and inspected if they are not 

doing this at Major / Inspection Services.
