Unidentified ON/OFF switch Favia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Picked up my vRS from the dealer on Saturday and love it!

Couple of quick questions:

1. Down to the right of the steering wheel (RHD models!) there is a small storage compartment. Inside that there a switch that is currently set to ON. What is this for?

2. On my Dad's Audi and mate's Golf, there is a facility whereby if the windows are open after you have exited the car, if you press and hold the lock button on the remote, it closes the windows. Is this also a feature of the vRS Fabia?

3. Were floor mats a standard fitting? I didn't request them, but they were fitted.. :D

Thanks in advance.

1, Can cooler, "on" allows air (Same temperature as the rest of the car) into the pocket, "off" blocks it

2, Window closure only works on the fabia with the key in the door turned fully and held.

3, Fab vRS mats were standard

1. That compartment is linked into the air con - you can chil a standard 330ml can in there.

2. I don't think it's on the furby but if you stick the key in the lock and turn it anti clockwise and hold it will wind them up for you.

3. Yep - they're standard :thumbup::D:thumbup:

You can do it with the key in the lock (turn and hold) as far as I know there's no way of making the remote do it :(

EDIT: Damn, too slow.

Learn something new :D

Note to self- "really must get around to reading handbook" :P

2. Yes, using key held in "lock" position will close the windows, but, be careful, it also works in reverse. If you hold it in "unlock" the windows will open. Not a problem when you see both opening, but when my Furby was new I saw the opened window on the driver's side and did not realise that the passenger side window had opened. I closed the window using the inside button, closed the door, pressed the remote on the key and walked off. Several hours later I returned to find the window had been open all through the afternoon rains!

Oh one point with regards to remotes maybe useful. After 18 months, the (rarely used) key in lock felt stiff. I put in oil and made a point of regularly using the key in the lock and moving the windows. It is now smooth.

Ignore all the liars in here.

It activates the cloaking device that makes you highly desirable to members of the opposite sex.

At least that's what my dealer told me.

Has it worked yet or is it going back in under warranty??? :D

I thought it was the one that made it produce 500bhp?

No, not standard, can be programmed to do that on delivery but it's an extra 20 quid, hardly worth it imo

FWIW, it can also be recoded with VAG-COM to save you a trip to the dealer ;)
