Chip tuning

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has already been covered.

However this is new in Czech Republic.

A company called APR is offering chip tuning and in my opinion going from 180 to 251 BHP just by chip tuning seems a little extreme. Thats just phase 1, not even going to go to phase 2.

In my past when I was young, I full well found out the benefits of adding boost and chipping without doing the rest. My Cavalier Turbo went like a rocket till I blew a piston. Thus, A grade head gasket, inlet and outlet gaskets was put in, reinforced pistons, rods etc.

I have read on other forums that these engines can handle a lot more but am weary.

The company over here also claims that it will not affect your warranty, which I don't think is true.

Thoughts please.

thanks

APR are well known in the UK. As for warranty certainly in the UK it would void it.
