What did you do to your bike today?

Fair enough. Strange how we treat bikes as high mileage when they get to needing their first tappet adjustments, but really not that much mileage and 50k miles plus is getting into higher mileage with plenty that have done double that too.

I know yeah. Its nuts really but the value of it suffers so much.

Not sure what to do yet. Its so good at pretty much everythin. Might just have another. :D

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

That's the issue I have the 1190 Adv. It really is a great all rounder with the exception of run about. I had thought of a big scooter but got the Honda CX500 instead to pull apart and rebuild into a scrambler that I can quickly whip out the garage and go. Problem is there is always temptation from something younger and more attractive like all things in life but for now the wife is putting up with me :)

Took the Tiger for a run today, it was nice to blow the cobwebs away but bloody windy!

We've had a lot of rain in and around London so fortunately that horrible stuff has been washed away, Friday was bright but very windy as was yesterday and today, however the temperatures have been on the positive part of the thermometer . Not saying that we've seen the last of it though, I once had to cancel an Easter Egg Run (for bikes anyway) that I had arranged  due to the weather conditions and the state of the roads, instead I had a convoy of cars to get across East London lol.

Today I took part in the Chilly Willy ride in aid of the Air Ambulance starting at All Seasons Café, Great Billing, along with hundreds of other bikers. Very cold but the sun was shining and the atmosphere was great. I will probably thaw out by tomorrow.

Took the decision to postpone the Easter Egg Run that I run every year, it was going to be on Saturday, moved it to the 17th March now!

Sensible option to take.

Took the bike for its MOT yesterday , was a bit wary because of the snow but all was well and bike passed B)

Popped into the garage. Looked at my bike. Stroked the tank and my new exhaust. Wandered back out thinking “next week hopefully”.

Me too. Nice run down to Ebbw Vale on Wednesday, just the right distance and roads.

What surprised me was how cold my hands got in a 2 mile town journey.

Nice. It reminds me of the old GS's I assume this is a replacement for the R Nine?

It is mate, I always said I'd never sell the R Nine T as I'd got it more or less how I wanted it, but I was loaned a Turban while the R Nine T was in for a service and a recall, and was smitten, I got a great deal on my R Nine T, and resold all my bolt on bits which effectively meant going from a 15 plate to an 18 plate for no extra cash, as the bit's I sold bridged the small difference in the purchase coat. Also got a great deal which swung it. I've had it greenlaning already briefly, surprisingly capable for a parts bin special.

They got you on the loan (temptation) bike. They’re so sneaky.

Looks like you could have a bit of fun on it. TKC80’s are a very capable tyre as you’ve already found out and pretty good on road too.

Looks smart that! Proper funky machines.

Was nothing transferable from the R nine T to this then? I assume theyre very similar when undressed?

Well I would have been using one of the bikes today (most likely the Tiger) for my rearranged Easter Egg Run however the "Beast from the East" has returned so I'll be using 4-wheels instead

Woke the Harley from its slumbers yesterday and made the most of the sunshine.

Took the Triumph out today as the sun had come back again :)
