Took my 2011 Tiger 800 Roadie in for MOT today and it sailed through - no advisories so all set to try and put more than the 1000 miles I did since the last MOT.

Gave the chain a thorugh clean and and lube and stuck it back in the garage for maybe a ride out around North Wales at the weekend.

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

There were quite a few KTM's there tonight mainly 1290 Adventures and Dukes,  no surprise really as it’s a stonking engine. As always a big variation in bikes, in all sizes and styles. Bikes constantly moving in and out of the place and on a nice day like today creates a good buzz.  If f your coming up drop me a message and I’ll meet you for a brew.

Are you about this afternoon fella?

@fabiamk2SE unfortunately I’m tied up this afternoon ringing round for insurance quotes, then some client work to do.

:angry:Carol Nash renewal came through with a 22% increase and so far managed to knock 25% less than last years price with extra coverage to boot :)

No mither (:

sounds about right. Mug you off for being loyal incase you dont check around, then pedal backwards when you ask questions

I washed mine for the first time today.  It's nice not to have to wash the huge surface area of a car for a change.

I need to go and take it somewhere  more photogenic than the garden.

Hope your pockets are deep then :D

I'd love a Cafe Racer, I wanted a Boneville Scrambler Cafe, but unfortunately practicality was more important than style and I ended up with the Versys. It is a good excuse to buy a second bike in a couple of years though!

Renewed the bike insurances after the Carol Nash renewal had jumped up to £783, a 43% increase for no reason. Bikesure and Bemoto were much more competitive but Bemoto had better coverage and were only £349 for both bikes.

Thats quite a saving!

It certainly was. I recommend Bemoto for their coverage and quotes. They’re a bit old school with everything done over the phone and all the legal statements read out to you. I was expecting it to be underwritten by some insurance company I’ve never heard of but was surprised to find it was Axa. Hopefully come renewal time they’ll be just as good.

Ride out to Brecon , Abergavenny and back home via Hay on Wye. Very civilised afternoon with my son on his Honda CB500F.

The Honda is surprisingly perky for such a small bike too.

If Rossi wins today will have to have a celebratory ride though I will not be doing 100 never mind about 220 !

Would not do 220 even if dropped from 10,000 metres.

Still if one can get an Octy to do 228 then never say never!

Not bad going!

Quite like evo mag. Theyre quite often do road tests in my area.

I still think they should put the 900 triple in a sports bike. Sorta like a new Yamaha Daytona. But theres prob not much of a market. Itd be cool though :D

Ahhh good to see a Bike Thread on Briskoda, I have to admit I am usually hanging around on the Fabia Section with my MK1 Fabia VRS but Bikes are also a big hobby of mine.

Most recently I have had a string of 600's....Couple of late model CBR600F's and a GSXR600L3 which I didn't get on with.

Keeping in trend with what I did on my Bike today, Well its more what I have done since last Wednesday on my most recently acquired toy...

Mint condition 2005 Kawasaki ZX12R B4h in Candy Plasma Blue, After a lengthy search for a Mint Gen 1 Suzuki Hayabusa OR Mint ZX12R and viewing countless Bikes my patience paid off a few Weeks ago. I bought it from Chris Walker Kawasaki in Grantham who was a pleasure to deal with! I worked for Yamaha in 2004/5 and was a Manager in the Motor Industry before leaving in 2014 so have a fair amount of Mechanical knowledge and experience. I always go through everything on my Bikes as I do with Cars and I have not even put my leg over it yet!

Its been really well looked after and maintained and last Year/1000 Miles ago had a Major Service including Valve Clearances, Throttle Body Sync, Fork Oil etc so this time around it required a Lube Service and inspection.
