Remote locking not locking.

Featured Replies

Hi folks, just getting back into car fiddling after a year off sick  . Yesterday I changed the entry level 1K0 937 084 B BCM to a highline 1K0 937 087 AL , ready for fogs, drls, leds, etc. Used VCDS to copy & paste coding to new unit, started 'er up and everything was ok... then I tried to lock up with the remote. No go. No response at all when the lock button is pressed. Both remote key fobs will unlock, I hear the locks click and the indicators flash, and the windows open and close remotely, so the key fobs appear to be synchronised. I've tried adaptation stuff from the Ross-Tech site and a few things I've found here on Briskoda, all to no avail. Any ideas anyone, before I part with the £45 per half hour the local stealers charge for diagnostics?

Thanks in advance guys, I'm running out of Valium. :rain:

I had this a little while ago. First thing I did....new fob batteries.

Then I had recalled something about putting the key in the driver's door locking/unlocking and quickly pressing the corresponding button on the fob. (I can't remember the exactl sequence, I just messed about until pressing the button worked.

Found that the interior lock/unlock switch only unlocks also. As that's a wired connection, nothing to do with the key fobs, I've come to the conclusion that it's the wrong BCM for this build of car. Put the old 084B BCM back in and hey presto: all working again. Anyone in need of a BCM shaped doorstop? :|
