2002 2.0l spark plugs? Bit lumpy at idle

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

MOT fail this week but only due to a worn tyre. No advisories which was great! Tyre place was next door, 15 mins later after new tyre on and wheels balanced MOT passed. :)

Anyway was just wondering about the plugs on this 2.0l engine.

Very difficult to access and with those awkward metal shrouds on them.

I would like to check what plugs the last service put on and what gap they have.

It's a bit lumpy at idle. (only 63,000 miles). New MAF in about 8 months ago.

Feels like one cylinder is not firing the same as the others at idle especially when cold. fine about 900 rpm. no other symptoms.

I've solved lumpy idles before by gapping the plugs properly. Usually overlooked by many people.

Thanks!

Could be worth cleaning out the throttle body.

This can be a cause of an slightly uneven idle no?
