I'm hoping the next FWD 1 series has the handling of the Mini with the comfort of the 1 series

Most BMW enthusiasts don't concede that a FWD CAN 'handle' , but in any case, I'm no longer into 'hanging the tail out' (if I ever was)

- sneezing more,out of a gallon is more fun to me in the real world now.

I dunno, I have had slightly more FWD cars than RWD and some of them could handle. I think it's a feel that the more sporty end BMW models have that eludes other makes. It doesn't make them better or faster, it's just something that some people like. A bit like hot chilli flavoured food or full fat Coca Cola. It's just down to taste. I don't think I know anyone who has only ever bought BMWs so they must like other manufacturers too

An interesting study from an institution in Massachusetts had less than 50% of those under 55 wanting to own a car......I suspect it's a trend.

one of my brothers is in his late 40s and has never had a driving licence and doesn't want one either! Hasn't affected his working either. He knows I have a Vitara and  a 1 series. he calls them my sporty car and my off road car (they are both grey). I haven't the heart to explain hot hatches and soft-roaders to him.

I was talking about that this morning to the Seat dealer who sold my wife her Mii. He was enthusing about it but either couldn't or wouldn't give any indication about it's release. Another one for me to look at!

I currently own a manual 1.2TSI Se-Plus, and was looking for a DSG option.  I tried out a 1.4 TSI MANUAL Octavia, which I liked very much.  In the end I bit the bullet and said the DSG was not important.  So I've ordered a 1.4 TSI L&K Yeti.

 

Can't wait for the delivery some time this year.
