What about the Fabia?

What about the Fabia?

it came in 9th position, not bad 3 skodas in the top ten

More to the point, ALL current skodas in the top ten :)

They always do well. Then someone comes along and says thats because people have such low expectations of their skodas they mark them up.

No envy there then

A great performance from Skoda

OMG! I'm shocked to see Merc quite *that* low.

But indeed a fine showing from the Czechs.

.

They are low every year. The arguments about owners expecting too much are rubbish.Honda and Lexus prove that.Honda and Lexus are great cars and their owners would expect the cars not to miss a beat.

Obviously they don't :)

Does anyone know how they take into account the number of responses for cars submitted as I notice that it's always a relatively small volume car that takes the number 1 spot, eg Honda S2000?

Chris

These surveys are not scientific. A Car like the Honda S2000 winning is because it is a specialist car bought by enthusiasts who like to rave about it in surveys. skoda also does so well because Skoda owners are defensive about their cars because of Skodas historical ****ty image, so they also tend to rave about their cars in these surveys. This is shown by VW, and Seat etc scoring so much less well despite producing cars that are mechanically the same but whose badge lacks the stigma. Personally I think in general these surveys are unfair to the big car makers compared with smaller manufacturers.

I think they are totally fair.Mazda,Honda,Toyota.Huge car makers and they all did well. They weren't 'prejudiced' by people reporting on their cars and I can understand why.

If peugot, citroen and mercedes are at the bottom that's their fault ;)

The survey reflects exactly how I see the motoring world today with the 'avoid these cars' at the bottom and the Hondas etc of this world at the top.

The truth of these is most people don't have time to fill in endless surveys.

Those who do are normally

1. Retired and/or have time on their hands. They tend to praise their cars to high heaven

2. Those who are totally sick to the back teeth with their cars. These people just criticise their car, failing or no failing.

I have to be honest I filled the survey in for my last skoda (the 53 reg Octavia) as it was giving me a few issues (nothing major but not the usual Skoda reliability I had come to expect). Now I'm back to a Fabia I don't think I'll bother with next year's survey.

As for the ZS - it was fine so I didn't bother. However the last few weeks may just persuade me to enter it in next year's survey.
