ramair.......

Featured Replies

Looking on getting an induction kit for my vrs 170 tdi. I've noticed a Ramair HP CAI kit on fleabay for £145. After googling it I can't find any vids of one fitted to hear what it would sound like, so, anyone here purchased and fitted one of these that can shed some light.

Nice one.

Anyone?......

Would you be able to hear much over the tappy engine sound?

Obviously wouldn't be as good as noise as you get with petrol I'd imagine.

My tdi is quiet though believe it or not. Almost silent on tick over. Alot of people surprised it's a diesel when they're told.

I'm still not 100% sure on induction on diesels though

Total waste of time unless it's remapped to a very high figure and even then probably not worth bothering with.

OK if you like extra noise and worse filtration.  Save for a remap instead.

Waste of money as said get a remap

Will be going down route of remap for sure soon as I can.

Can't justify 500 quid though(shark). Don't mind 350 I've seen for APR map like. First off though is gaining an exhaust note change as of Thursday.

Thinking more along the lines of standard set up with panel filter, maybe revo?

'Faboka VRS' on here can remap it for you, probably for a great deal less than you would pay at other tuners.  His work is well documented on here.

I believe he is also Merseyside based.

Not 100% sure but I believe he is independent.

Mine is remapped and looking to change the standard air filter. I'm looking at panel filters at the moment
