LED interior lightbulbs.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I got a set of overhead interior LED bulbs fitted at Rockingham, plus two more festoons for the rear number plate lights, which I've fitted today. The interior is transformed from a dingy pub into an operating theatre....!!! Well sort of.

Has anyone done one in the boot/cargo bay lampholder, it has one of those tiny capless 5w bulbs, and does anyone know the name of the Brum-based guys who were at Rockingham so I can ring them to ask about this one and perhaps the glovebox bulb too.

Thanks

Richard.

Hi Richard, nice meeting you on SUN' at the Rock. I've put an LED in the boot,i used an LED i had left over from the sidelights. You can take the holder apart, just take your time.

Many thanks to Colin and Clive for prompt responses, haven't yet decided whether to source them from PowerBulbs (who are local) or from the Gizmo guy.

O.T.

More Roomsters than Citigos from what I saw at Rockingham!

And I preferred the "all mixed up together" parking, means you get to talk to a variety of folks.

Last year's at Blyton, serried ranks of Mk 1 Fabias, quite intimidating when I arrived! (And almost no other Roomsters).

And yes, I found the music too loud when I parked up behind the other Ocean Blue Roomy (what's the owner's name and forum name?) Hence why I moved the car further from the noise, to be able to converse comfortably.

As above Richard, Clive beat me to it. Patience is key with the boot light.

Hope you're enjoying the magical door unlocking powers :)

Oh yes, all doors at first click is just great, many thanks Barrie. And I did get the bootlight apart, and back together without breaking anything!

I must PM the Gizmo guy to find out what size his 5W capless LED's are; Powerbulbs' look very compact, but at £15 for two, OUCH! And am confused what's the difference between ones at 4000K and 4700K? Do any of these fit as front sidelights, I imagine they'd be better as a substitute DRL when one wants it to be more obvious that one's on the move, yet not wanting dipped headlights.

Richard

if you could take some pictures when you do the boot one that would be most appreciated I need to do mine!!

4k and 4.7k is to do with the intensity of white light 4.7 will be whiter but this appears to be more blue to the human eye

PR, just prise it out, unplug it and you'll see what needs doing,as has been said just take your time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Who sells decent sets for interior led lights?

HID Direct are pretty good.

Tbh I use eBay and don't have many problems.
